"INBOX/directory" is not a valid mailbox name for Courier-IMAP. Courier-IMAP will not allow you to even subscribe to that mailbox name in the first place.
a OK LOGIN Ok. a SUBSCRIBE INBOX/directory a NO Invalid mailbox name.So, the screenshot shows either a client bug, where it thinks it's subscribed to a mailbox that can never be subscribed in the first place, or something other than Courier-IMAP created the courierimapsubscribed file in the Maildir, perhaps some broken conversion script, that breaks both the client and the server.
