Hi all,
I am new to courier, and am trying to build a
server to replace a sendmail server.
I followed the instructions to create RPMS via the
tarballs, and installed without much problems. I am able to start up courier via
the init scripts and the processes are running properly. There are two courierd,
one under root, one under daemon. A bunch of other courier processes are running
also, such as imap and pop3.
I've installed all of this onto a RedHat 7.2
box.
Now, I can't seem to connect to port 25 via telnet.
It just says connection refused. I've tried this from a remote machine, and from
the box itself (telnetting to localhost 25). I think it's probably something
very simple I'm doing wrong, but I can't seem to pin-point it.
Before installing courier, I had sendmail running
(as per the default RedHat installation), and I was able to connect to port 25,
which makes me doubt it's anything to do with ipchains/firewall. I've also
checked ipchains and there's a rule to allow all port 25 traffic.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
-Tony
