Dont worry, the script itself was just used as the basis. I've changed the
handling of addresses, environment variables, etc.  The web-designers were
familiar with its interface, so it was decided to keep with it. Hence why
I stepped in and locked it down a bit. 

Eventually, Im looking to replace it with something home brewed. My main
worry is that I dont have much experience of the internals of MIME, so its
probably a little out of my league - although no doubt there's a perl
module that I can 'lean' on ;)

So, any ideas of what I should use instead?
