Installing courier 0.37.0 on OpenBSD 2.9 # GENERIC Following the online Installation docs, I come to the section entitled "Test child process termination". I have set up a test user (mailtest). Docs say to run the following command line as the test:
sh perftest1 1000 "user-test-1 user-test-2 user-test-3 user-test-4 user- test-5" and replacing user with the name of the test account. My resulting command: sh /home/ftp/pub/linux_apps/mail/courier-mta/perftest1 1000 "mailtest-test- 1 mailtest-test-2 mailtest-test-3 mailtest-test-4 mailtest-test-5" I hope I understood the name substitution correctly... At any rate, the command will run silently for about 15 seconds and then to console: sendmail: ERR: submitclient: EOF from submit. 432 Service temporarily unavailable. sendmail: ERR: submitclient: EOF from submit. 432 Service temporarily unavailable. sendmail: ERR: submitclient: EOF from submit. 432 Service temporarily unavailable. /var/log/messages is empty, but /var/log/maillog is chock full: see this url for the complete maillog (emptied before this command for clarity): http://www.sancho2k.net/maillog.html According to the docs, the result of this command should have been 5000 messages in $HOME/test/new; this is empty. What I did recieve was a bit of output in $HOME/.bounces; this can be seen at http://www.sancho2k.net/bounces.html I also found a lot of content in $HOME/.test; this is at http://www.sancho2k.net/test.html (I'm serving from DSL 256K up; pardon if the page loads all the file slowly. If you want to stop it prematurely, you'll get the picture of what all it contains ;) I'm not sure what all this means; did I have an syntax error with the initial command I ran? What does the error tell me? Am I going to have a mail delivery failure in production? If any other info is required, I'll be glad to provide it.. thanks!
