Courier uses OpenLDAP libraries to do lookups and uses the authdeamon if
installed to manage authentication, for your case it is important to have
authldap compiled to make sure that you get authenticated to LDAP and get
the relevant information out of it.

I prefer TWIG but I hear that the author of courier Sam has an SQWEBMail
package that is also quite good and has groupware facilities, IMP works well
with courier as well. I have it installed on one of our servers.

I guess that LDAP does centralize things for you anyways, I don't think
that there is a kerberos authentication module unless you use the authcustom
and write your own module.

Courier is the best but remember it uses Maildirs only, I wonder if
Cyrus does Maildirs now ...
