Greetings,

I have seen this error (432 Service temporarily unavailable) pop up now and
again in the archives and current mailing list, but none of the previous
causes of this error seem to apply to me.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why this error is being
generated. Someone said in another thread that the only place this gets
called is in one of the process fork routines.

Whatever the case, I'm hoping someone can lead me in the right
direction. I have been using Courier for quite a while now, and decided to
update to the latest version (0.37) from the source tarballs (as opposed to
the CVS, which I was using before). I am not using the RPMS.

Everything appeared to build fine, and install fine. Configuring was much
easier this time around. POP3 is working, Authentication is working via
PAM, I'm using Maildirs.

I've tried using the new esmtpd file, and I've also verified any
differences between my current esmtpd file and my previous WORKING esmtpd
file, they are identical at this time.

However... I constantly get the 432 error, here is an example session:

[root@cm log]# telnet localhost 25
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
HELO localhost
220 cm ESMTP
250-cm Ok.
250-XVERP=Courier
250-XEXDATA
250-XSECURITY=NONE,STARTTLS
250-PIPELINING
250-8BITMIME
250-SIZE
250 DSN
MAIL FROM:<test at cm.pcslab.com>
250 Ok.
RCPT TO:<me at cm.pcslab.com>
432 Service temporarily unavailable.

Regardless of the RCPT to destination, courier returns the 432 error.

I'm not sure what other information I can supply, I'll be happy to supply
whatever. The system was originally based on a Red Hat 6.2 install, but
has long since gone beyond anything Red Hat. Kernel rev is 2.5.0, gcc is 3.0.1

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
