All,
I've managed to get my IMAP server up and login-able, and the
folders create and delete and all that good stuff just fine. But the
shared folders function doesn't work. I followed the manpage for
maildirmake to the letter to create a shared directory:

maildirmake -S ....../sharedfolders

no problem.

Then I created an individual folder

maildirmake -s write -f unixadm ...../sharedfolders

no problem.

Then, as a regular user, I tried to add that folder to my subscription:

maildirmake --add unixadm=....../sharedfolders $HOME/Maildir

no problem reported.

But in my mail clients (trying with both O.E. and Nets. Comm. 4.78)
don't see this folder. And I noticed that if I create a folder through
my mail client, it exists just fine and works just fine, but I can't
make it sharable.

Trying in Netscape with 'unixsharing' reports:
Folder Type: Personal Folder
This is a personal mail folder. It is not shared.

This server does not support shared folders.

Can anyone help me here? I can't find anything in `man maildirmake`.

PS: I was earlier asking about a problem with the IMAP server reporting
a fatal error "Maildir: No such file or directory". The problem is that
even if you explicitly point out a maildir in the userdb, the software
still looks for a subdirectory called "Maildir" under whatever the
userdb file points at. Call me stupid, but that isn't all that obvious
to me.
