Folks, I'm running courier 0.37 on my RedHat 7.1 server, using authpam for authentication. It all seems to work fine (webmail, IMAP etc.) except for one odd behaviour:
esmtpd works, however most of the time it suffers from an odd affiction. When I try to send a mail out through it (smtp, no authorisation required), the connection freezes for about 2 minutes before accepting and sending the message. This is enough to time out most mail clients on their default settings. The actual mail logs tell me the transaction connects and completes in around a second, so the problem appears to be the response to the opening connection request taking forever. The weird part is that the the problem seems to come and go - every two or three days I get a day when response is instantaneous. Unfortunately, I don't really know how esmtpd handles connection requests, so what is going on during the hold up is a mystery to me. If I knew this, I might be able to run some effective diagnostics. Has anyone seen this and fixed it? Thanks, Matt Savigear. _______________________________________________ courier-users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/courier-users
