Not to mention the Maildir stuff, that is excellent, I don't think that
cyrus does support it if it does if I not wrong its wonky, it was also
designed for the CM campus rather than wide spread use although they claim
that, Exim for example was to improve the University of Cambridge's smtp hub
but has evolved into a non-academic/non-campus project, Courier is purely
general use. You don't have to be a University or a campus to use it.
Courier also is an all in one product so if you decide to swap over the
authentication methods/protocols remain the same very small amount of
changing.

PS: I sold my bosses with Courier over any other system as its pro-active
and very modular, small and I made a decision for them over Communigate Pro
