A firewall wich allows _any_ connection from untrusted sources into the internal net does not deserve that name. Public services should be placed in the dmz, and not even the dmz should be allowed to create connections into the internal net. One single server in the dmz will be enough, dont forget to setup some intrusion-detection and monitor the box.
