Guys, my apologies if this is an RTFM or stupid newbie question.

I have built Courier 0.38.1 on a Redhat 7.3 SMP system and have a problem with
the webmail interface. After successfully logging in on the interface, the cgi
returns the following error message for all local accounts: (only authpam
enabled at current time)

Unable to open the Maildir for this account -- the maildir doesn't exist or
has incorrect ownership or permissions. ( webmail/auth.c -- line 210 )

Local mail delivery is successful, maildir exists and is mode 600. webmail is
root/bin read execute with SetUID per install. All additional tests in install
are successful.

configure, make, make check, make install, and make install-configure are all
successful. webadmin interface is operational. courierd settings are;
DEFAULTDELIVERY="./Maildir"
MAILDROPDEFAULT=./Maildir

local MUA such as mutt reads the mail in $HOME/Maildir fine.

There is not a MAILDIR environment variable in the output of the /usr/bin/env
from the .courier test in the install, nor is it referenced in the dot-courier
man pages. I am quite sure I'm missing something basic and apologize. Could
someone point me in the right direction please?

Thanks in advance.
