That feature request hereby seconded :-) As for authdaemond not working after an LDAP outage - I've noticed that too on occasion in the past, but not investigated in any depth (mainly because switching over manually to the second LDAP server requires an authdaemond restart anyway) > I'm currently using version 1.4.3 (ie, the version supplied with Debian > Woody). I haven't noticed this issue explicitly in the ChangeLog, although a few months ago there was something about backend connections now being dropped after 5 minutes of inactivity. Conceivably that might help it to recover after an outage.
