In authldaprc, specify a comma-separated list of LDAP servers for LDAP_SERVER.
Hi all,
Is there any way that courier-imap can be configured to access more than
one LDAP server, so that if the primary server should fail, courier will failover to a secondary (or a tertiary)?
If you're running OpenLDAP 2.0.19 or earlier there's an artificial 60 second delay before authdaemon restarts. 2.0.19 and earlier leak memory if the server connect fails, so it's necessary to restart authdaemon processes after a server failure. To prevent the server from forkbombing itself after an LDAP failure, a 60 second timer is started after a server connection failure, during which all authentication requests are turned away. After 60 seconds the process is killed, and is restarted by the parent authdaemon process.Actually, I suppose this is two problems ... if the LDAP crashes, why doesn't courier recover when it comes back up again, and can I make it failover to a second server?
