I am having issues using the latest version of
Outlook Express (on Windows XP) with Courier IMAP 1.4.3 (on a Debian system
installed using the latest Courier IMAP package).
First, when I delete a message from within Outlook
Express and then hit purge, it usually does not work the first time. If I
then hit purge again, I generally always works.
Second, when I move a message from my inbox to
another folder and then hit purge to delete the origional message from my inbox,
it often does not delete (I am assuming this is related to the first
problem).
Third, when reading messages in my Inbox, Outlook
Express marks the message as unread, but I believe the message telling the
server to mark it as read is not getting through because if I refresh the list
of messages, the message is again marked unread.
I think all of these issues may have to do with the
fact that Outlook opens multiple simultanious connections to the IMAP server
depending on the operation being performed.
I have also tested Outlook Express with other IMAP
servers and it seems to work fine (which is why I think it may be a Courier-IMAP
problem).
The version string for the version of Outlook
Express I am using is: 6.00.2800.1106 (xpsp1.020828-1920).
If anybody has any ideas I would appreciate the
input!
Thanks!
