I have red hat 8.0, and qmail 1.03. I installed the courier imap 1.5.3. and when i try to start it with /etc/init.d/imapd start I get this error:

bind: Cannot assign requested address
ll_daemon_start: Resource temporarily unavailable

I am starting it as root. I tried to change the ADDRESS in the imapd file, and it seems that is the problem. If I set it to 127.0.0.1, I can start it, but it doesn't seem to be working. I do not have anything running in the same port accordingly to the netstat. This is the result of the netstat -l

I searcgh all over the internet for this problem without any luck. Any help will be welcome.

Deb.
