Hello, I am running Linux 7.3 (latest kernel) qmail 1.0.3 (maildirs) vpopmail 5.3.16 (installed from tarball not rpm) vqadmin SpamAssassin 2.5.0-CVS safecat 0.9 rpm 4.0.4-7x.18
rpm directory structure in the user's home directory with the appropriate .rpmmacros file and %_topdir entry echo "%_topdir $HOME/rpm" >> $HOME/.rpmmacros mkdir $HOME/rpm mkdir $HOME/rpm/SOURCES mkdir $HOME/rpm/SPECS mkdir $HOME/rpm/BUILD mkdir $HOME/rpm/SRPMS mkdir $HOME/rpm/RPMS mkdir $HOME/rpm/RPMS/i386 my issue is when I rpm -ta courier-imap-1.7.0.tar.bz2 as a general user (in the user's home root) the end of the compile process the message indicates the following: gcc -I/home/vpopmail/include -O2 -march=i386 -mcpu=i686 \ -Wall -I.. -I./.. -o authuserdb modauthuserdb.o libauthmod.a \ libauth.a ../numlib/libnumlib.a ../userdb/libuserdb.a \ ../gdbmobj/libgdbmobj.a ../libhmac/libhmac.a -lgdbm ../md5/libmd5.a \ ../sha1/libsha1.a -lcrypt Compiling modauthvchkpw.c gcc -I/home/vpopmail/include -O2 -march=i386 -mcpu=i686 -Wall -I.. \ -I./.. -o authvchkpw modauthvchkpw.o libauthmod.a libauth.a \ ../numlib/libnumlib.a ../md5/libmd5.a ../sha1/libsha1.a -L/home/vpopmail/lib \ -lvpopmail -lm -lcrypt /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lvpopmail collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[2]: *** [authvchkpw] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/cherry/rpm/BUILD/courier-imap-1.7.0/authlib' make[1]: *** [all] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/cherry/rpm/BUILD/courier-imap-1.7.0/authlib' make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.83885 (%build) My question is, do I need to pass an additional parameter to the rpm statement (if so what is it) or is there a global variable that needs to be set prior to running the rpm. >From all appearances vpopmail is installed and working Any help would be appreciated.
