Trying to send a test fax from a new installation of courier-0.41.0.20030215
w/ sqwebmail, it fails with this in /var/log/messages
Feb 25 11:23:03 sniper sendfax[5816]: failed transmitting /var/spool/courier/faxtmp/f0000-0001.g3: phone="3409257", +FHS:00, dev=modem, time=41s, acct=""
I was successful sending a fax via sendfax prior to installation of courier.
Any ideas?
This error is reported by sendfax, so you should investigate sendfax's documentation.
I've often found that when trying to fax a bitmapped image (gif or jpeg), unless the size of the image is just right the receiving fax machine will reject it. There may be a way to automatically scale bitmap image to the correct size, using netpbm-tools; someone more knowledgeable in that area might be able to provide a pointer.
