After posting problems a few times here & getting no real resolution I am
seeking an alternative.

The problem has been this (in the event someone is still able to see the
problem & offer up a resolution), I send a single page fax ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
from sqWebMail via a USR Courier Ext. V.Everything modem to a Windows NT 4.5
Small Business Server (SBS) equipped w/ USR Courier modems & also to normal
fax machines. The SBS never produces a fax file, where as, the normal fax
machine will produce a page. In ALL cases /var/log/messages reports a
failed transmission of f0000-0001.g3. The SBS, surprisingly, is fairly
reliable & has been in service for a year or more.

<snip>
Mar  2 10:13:24 sniper sendfax[17212]: failed transmitting
/var/spool/courier/faxtmp/f0000-0001.g3: phone="3409257", +FHS:00,
dev=ttyS0, time=46s, acct=""
<snip>

I cp'ed the .g3 before it's deletion & manually ran faxspool 3409257
f0000-0001.g3. It faxes successfully to both the SBS & normal fax machines.

I beleive the normal fax machines are streaming the fax to paper as the data
is transmitted where as the SBS streams to memory or a temporary file. In
both cases, the end of transmission using courierfax is incomplete or
improper causing the "failed transmitting
/var/spool/courier/faxtmp/f0000-0001.g3". The SBS dumps the failed incoming
fax, where as, the normal fax machine has produced a hard copy which looks
normal & complete.

Remember as I stated earlier, sending the same file via faxspool & sendfax
manually bypassing courierfax is successful!

I have since tried a few USR Data/Fax modems (some sportster & some not),
var/log/messages incorrectly reports a successful transmission. That is, no
fax at the receiving end.

I have tweaked the sendfax.config to the best of my ability & I don't know
where to look from here.
