IOW my headspace problem, not courier's. ... (my virtual memory is getting all-too 'virtual' with age...) ... something like a partial startup (half a dozen things should get called to life if your /etc/rc.d/courier.sh (or Mac equivalent) is working properly. Some only appear in top briefly, as they don't run until called upon. More if I can find/remember it.. but don't give up on OS-X.
