I've been meaning to investigate this further, but haven't had the time quite yet, since IMAP mostly seems to work just fine anyway. (...and I'm still having other problems keeping me away. :) -- But I'd *definitely* be interested in knowing what (if anything) to do about it, if someone has some thoughts off the top of their heads to get us started.
I plan on looking into it either way (eventually), but a place to start an investigation would sure be nice if anyone had some ideas. ;-)
TIA.

Hi all
Done some serious delving into the archives, plus some extra input from some personally from this list (you know who you are!) and I've managed to get Courier-IMAP 1.7.1 compiled with MySQL support, on OS-X 10.2.4 (client). Wahoo!
However on boot the processes didn't appear for courier and when starting manually I get this:
root# /usr/local/lib/courier-imap/libexec/imapd.rc start
/usr/local/lib/courier-imap/libexec/imapd.rc: ulimit: cannot modify virtual memory limit: Invalid argument
There seems to be nothing in the archives about this :(
