Probably Courier is trying to use LDAPv2 binds to authenticate (you have
LDAP_AUTHBIND set), and your LDAP server is only allowing LDAPv3. It would
probably be a good time for Courier to start defaulting to v3, but in the
mean time there's an option you can stick in your openldap config which
allows v2 binds.
