Yup - that's my understanding of it... When you use shared folders, they are NOT below INBOX, but at the same level - from what I understand, courier will let you create folders anywhere, but the client software has to format the command properly... case in point - if you want your sent items saved in the "Sent" folder on the IMAP server, you have to set the root path (last page of account options I think to INBOX. I don't think outlook properly realized what path it's dealing with.
