Hi,
I haven't been on this list for a while, but I've had a couple of problems building courier-0.42.0.
Firstly, I upgraded my very custom RH gcc compiler to 3.2 using the RH 8.0 rpms. This involved a couple of major changes including a glibc upgrade and a pam upgrade as well.
I now am running with:
pam-0.75-40 pam-devel-0.75-40
The pam-devel seems to be a new addition that wasn't there in my old RH6.0 base release - but whatever was there was being linked against ok - - albeit maybe incorrect versions (I've no idea what nor why RH keep on doing strangely inconsistent stuff with their rpms ...)
But for some unfortunate reason, the courier distro no longer realises that I want to include authpam in the build, and merrily goes away and doesn't build it.
I've had to explicitly include --with-authpam to force this to be built (nothing else was required for successful compilation and linking).
I can look into this further if anybody is interested ...
