hey guys
i am setting up a mailserver on a sunlx50 , distro freebsd4.7, MTA ==Postfix, Mysql 4.0.12, courier-imap1.6.1, i have my courier-imap patched to use mysql4, webmail==squirrelmail , i have everything pretty much setup i have mail being delievered to the appropriate maildir(s) and all , i am using a test subdomain for the tests and 1 user in my database, i have configured all the files in the /usr/local/etc/courier-imap , i have also tried to use a authmysqlrc file which exludes all the other fields in the normal authmsqlrc.dist file that is there by the default i.e got only the fields that i needed, all the daemons are started but , i have just failed to authenticate my 1 user who is in my database , i really dont know what the problem is, i tried telnetting port 110 and issuing the user xxxx | pass xxxx cmds on the prompt but i just get authentication failed, yet i am using a valid user and password which is in the database, i know the MTA is diffinately connecting to the database , but courier-imap doesnt seem to be connecting i believe, hence authentication problems, is there a way i could debug this with some tools to see what the problem might be or is there a set up i can try out ....to get all this working , all help is highly appreciated. ps: i hope all this makes sense ..if not i will be more than willing to give more details cheers David ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: ValueWeb: Dedicated Hosting for just $79/mo with 500 GB of bandwidth!
