Well guys,
After trying for ever and ever, I never could figure out why Courier
wouldn't deliver the mail which it was actually accepting into the mail
queue for my domain. -- I _still_ think it was some simple config
problem with what courierlocal was doing, but I couldn't figure it out.
So, I gave up. -- I'm now using Postfix as my MTA again, with Courier
doing all the IMAP/POP/webmail. And everything works like a charm.
(Except I have to keep 2 sets of auth info for the moment, since my
current Postfix install doesn't support PostgreSQL users. *sigh* But I
plan to patch it soon to fix that.) All I'm really missing is Courier's
MSA service and maildrop integration with SMTP sessions. Both of which
I can live without.
Anyway...
What I want to know however, is how easy would I find it if I tried to
remove the courier system (full system) and re-install the courier-imap
and sqwebmail systems individually.
Can I simply save my config files and then introduce them into the new
locations after I compile the individual components?
And if so... Will it hurt in any way (other than my possible confusion
down the road ;) if I have extra courier-mta-only related files in the
courier-imap/sqwebmail config directories after I copy it over?
Or will I almost certainly have to rebuild my config into each of them
after I'm done compiling the parts and installing?
Thanks for any info or tips!
