I indeed applied the patch yesterday and there were no changes (well, at least no more pipe() errors).
I will investigate what you suggest. We are running OpenLDAP 2.0.25.
FYI in the last hour we have found that the radius server is also logging errors due to LDAP.
That, pretty much, points the finger at your LDAP server.
