I'd love to get to the bottom of this. I was hoping it was just a
Mozilla bug and would eventually go away with a new release, but it
hasn't. Here's a document with screenshots that describes the problem:

Michael: In your Config #2, if you set your 'Personal namespace' in the Advanced IMAP server Settings box to be "" (that's two double quotes - you can't just leave it empty) it will work almost correctly.

Ok, I've put this up as Configuration #3. Did you check that particular
configuration both with and without the --enable-workarounds option? If
so, did either way make any difference?

m.

I had a quick look at your Config #3, and that pretty much describes my experience with it. I've tried it both with and without the workarounds and it acts the same. Sam could probably verify this, but I seem to recall that those workarounds were to address a bug in early versions of Netscape 4.x. I'm pretty sure they aren't relevant here.

I'm just hoping that somebody with a better knowledge than mine of IMAP and Courier IMAP in particular, can debug this and determine if there is anything we can do on the client side to fix it. The same thing happens with Outlook Express too, by the way, so maybe a fix or option on the server might be more appropriate.
