Ok, I've put this up as Configuration #3. Did you check that particular configuration both with and without the --enable-workarounds option? If so, did either way make any difference?

I had a quick look at your Config #3, and that pretty much describes my experience with it. I've tried it both with and without the workarounds and it acts the same. Sam could probably verify this, but I seem to recall that those workarounds were to address a bug in early versions of Netscape 4.x. I'm pretty sure they aren't relevant here.
Correct. In fact, that option no longer makes much of a difference. Most of the protocol differences have been removed for other reasons, in the last couple of years. There's still a few different bits left here and there, but not as much as there used to be.
