Likely everyone gave up on the buggy vpopmail long ago.

With respect, we have been running vpopmail for three years plus, 50+
domains, 200+ POP3 accounts with zero problems.

What bugs?

I'll research the possibly of switching MTA's. But I see no reason to
fix something that isn't broke - unless it's the only way to get imap
working, which it seems it's not.
