It looks like your box's hostname is set to "lurch", which is not an FQDN. Whenever you configure a box without an FQDN as its hostname, you're going to have to explicitly tell the MTA what the FQDN is. In your case, you'll probably want to put "binarymagi.com" in the file /etc/courier/defaultdomain. I don't remember if you have to restart courier afterward.

It doesn't look like it's adding anything onto the addresses.

It is, and you'll probably see what it is if you look at the logs. You would also get a better idea if you:


$ mail -s test eshicks </dev/null

The bounce that you get will, I believe, have the expanded address in it, with the bad domain.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] is supposed to dump into my ehicks account.  syslog
says basically the same thing as the bounce reply.

If you check your maillog, you'll probably see references to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]".
