couriertls is the program that handles SSL/TLS support.  Are you saying that 
couriertls is not properly linked to the openssl libraries?  If yours isn't 
linked correctly then you probably should rebuild courier.  I suppose you 
could symlink the libraries to where it's looking.  But I don't know for 
sure.  Never tried.

Personally I'd rebuild courier and see if that solves your problem.  You're 
doing this on a Solaris, right? Maybe someone else running courier on Solaris 
can tell you if there's anything funny about courier and openssl on that 
platform.
