I have been running Courier as my MTA for over 2 years now. I just recently noticied a few glitches in my system. To my understanding the Trash folder is to get purged automatically by the server. I can say for my system, this is not happening.
I use a program called imapfilter to delete my old messages. I ran this on my account today and noticied. 1811 messages, 107 recent, 0 unseen, in mailbox "Trash". 1039 messages deleted. upon further research, I noticed email from Feb 2002, when I started using Courier.
