Hi everybody,
[snip]
I found an error in www.courier-mta.org/courier.html where is default dir for 'several configuration files' /etc/courier. In my installation of Courier it is not the case because there is no such directory, I assume it is /usr/lib/courier/etc?
If most of the courier configuration files are there. I believe that's the default installation directory.
Anyway, I did not found there any local nor me file, so I created local file with following lines:
mydomain.com
.mydomain.com
according to instructions from the a.m. html document.
After trying to send message using Mozzila Mail after some time I got warning that says something like "Mail server responded: DNS lookup failure. Please check your email address".
One would assume that you've put your own domain there? My locals file reads:
sitharus.com
Just a single line, as I only use one domain for email.
Does this mean that Courier does not read my local file? I tried to change my e-mail address: username, [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], wheremail.mydomain.com is the name of Courier mail server, but warning was always the same.
It means the domain you're using doesn't have a DNS entry. So I guess you've put mydomain.com in instead of your own domain name. If you don't have one, you'll need to register one.
