It means the domain you're using doesn't have a DNS entry. So I guess you've put mydomain.com in instead of your own domain name. If you don't have one, you'll need to register one.
You are right, but according to instructions, Courier should not make DNS lookup at all, since this domain is defined in locals file? I am testing this mail server on our intranet. Is it possible the way I am doing?
You still need to be able to look up the address - courier does check it. You have to create a valid A or MX entry that points to the mail server processing it. You can't use /etc/hosts either ;)
