Mark, I agree that a straightforward 'purge' button would be a really handy feature.
The 'smarter-than-thou' approach to software design, which says that the designer doesn't think you're mature enough to handle a 'delete' button which actually deletes things is a very Microsoft sort of an attitude, and it doesn't work in any case: the act of doing whatever ritual is necessary to purge a deleted thing becomes habit like changing gears in a manual car. You aren't even aware that you've done it, but it wasted a bit of your time anyway. I know that it's tantamount to mentioning satan on a christian newsgroup, but I would point out that Mr Crispin's 'pine' has a one-key purge which works from within a folder view. It's not a revolutionary feature for an IMAP reader. _________________________________ Thorne Lawler Senior Systems Administrator t: +61 3 8329 2026 f: +61 3 9326 7588 e: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Microlistics A Dawson Group Company www.microlistics.com.au _________________________________ > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Mark > Constable > Sent: Friday, 4 June 2004 2:09 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [courier-users] sqwebmail alternative > > > I've just deployed sqwebmail for quite a few users and I'm > facing a revolt because when they go to delete their messages > the messages do not actually dissapear from the page.
