Hi,

I'm trying to get Amavis to work with Courier-MTA. There is already a
patch to amavis to (partially) support the Courier Filter interface.
Unfortunately up to now Amavis does only tell Courier to accept or deny
a mail.

I would like to extend this interface (on Amavis side) to give a more
detailed feedback. For example SpamAssassin inserts a "X-Spam" Header
field. (Which my spam software relies on).

As far as I understand up to now, a filter gets a filename where the
email is stored and returns sort of a status code (accept or deny
email).

Is it possible for a filter to change the contents of that file (i.e.
inserting that X-Spam Header field?) In what order are the filters
running if there is more than one filter?

If this is not allowed for a filter, how could one implement that? Would
I have to hack around in the Courier-MTA code?

Is there a good documentation or do I have to learn from the examples?

Thanks for your help

Markus
