Grin, I only use mutt myself :) But we have a lot of Customers using Microsoft's Email programs, and though I like Thunderbird too on Windows, the customer's (or above all: the IT-department of their company) mostly not :( > 2. You didn't include any versions, Courier? OE? Postfix? Though this is completely unrelated IMHO, here they are: OS: FreeBSD 4.9+, 5.1+, 5.2+, 5.2.1 Filesystem: just stock UFS and UFS2 Courier Imap 3.0.5+ (CVS too) Maildrop 1.6.3+ (CVS too) Postfix 2.1.4 Outlook Express: 6.0, 6.0sp1 (+ additional patches), 6.0sp2 > 3. Did you do anything further to troubleshoot the problem? Does this > happen on all accounts and from all machines or just one? Some :) I've tried Postfix's own Virtual Delivery Agent instead of Maildrop, and that makes no difference. Also, there are just 2 files in the new/ Maildir file, so we can (almost) eliminate the MDA as the cause. I can also eliminate any other software, cause it happens on 'fresh installs' too. When Performing a 'Send and Receive' in MSOE, I actually _see_ the counter in () after the Inbox changing. For example: I had 5 unread messages in my Inbox. I sent a new email to myself (just 1) I perform a 'Send and Receive', and the counter behind my Inbox goes from 5 to 6, and then again from 5 to 6. This happens with all (Windows XP) Outlook Express. It does _not_ happen with Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 (other versions not known). So I guess it's not (or not completely) Courier's fault :) We're also experiencing a lot of timeout's (especially when starting MSOE) on the 'Drafts' folders. Anyone know how to work around that? I just wondered if anyone is experiencing the same, and if there is a fix for MSOE, rather then using another MUA :) But maybe I should drop this to an MS-tech list.
