Yes ... it's about 30 seconds until the authentication fails. I'll habe
to check openldap then.
There is no thrashing ... there is free RAM available in these
situations and I can also login, get the process list, see what top
tells me, kill the buggy process and things like that without noticeable
delays. Therefore I had/have the impression, that there is some
implemented limit.
As I said the limit seems to be around a load of 4 ... below 4
authentication works within less then a second, above it fails after the
30 seconds you mention.
I guess I really have to check openldap ... shouldn't be a problem ...
just checking what happens if I query the directory (should have had
this idea before *g*).
