Errr...I should have mentioned this in my original mail (and meant to).... syslog looks completely fine. The logs look identical to a success. Here's a sample log from user "gus" who resides on server "hp1" and is accessing from "dev2" Nov 17 10:35:03 dev2 authdaemond: Authenticated: sysusername=<null>, sysuserid=1000, sysgroupid=1000, homedir=/var/Accounts/g.sub/u.sub/gus.macnt/, address=gus, fullname=<null>, maildir=/var/Accounts/g.sub/u.sub/gus.macnt/, quota=<null>, options=mailhost=hp1.test.spam Nov 17 10:34:47 hp1 authdaemond: Authenticated: sysusername=<null>, sysuserid=1000, sysgroupid=1000, homedir=/var/Accounts/g.sub/u.sub/gus.macnt/, address=gus, fullname=<null>, maildir=/var/Accounts/g.sub/u.sub/gus.macnt/, quota=<null>, options=mailhost=hp1.test.spam Come to think of it....the actual hostnames as given by "hostname" are "hp1" and "dev2". Is this the problem, i.e. that "hp1" is not literally the same as the FQDN hp1.test.spam?
