Thanks for the quick reply. But, I may have missed something. At no point, does Thunderbird prompt me for a username and password to sende-mail. If I'm in the smtpaccess file, I can send un- challenged. IfI'm not, I get a relaying denied message. I would like Thunderbird to challenge me for a password to send e-mail. Thunderbird can cache the password in it's little locker if the user wants, but I don't wantanyone to be able to send mail through the server without this challenge.
That's a Thunderbird issue, you have to set up the authentication credentials manually as it doesn't expect SMTP to be authenticated.
