Check your syslog for any kernel-level error messages.
Unfortunately nothing... :-( I setup another syslog rule for kern.* to
go to a separate log with the assumption that this will happen again. Is
there anything else I should do to prepare for this?
So it happened again (10 days later). I've been waiting for it to happen
and it indeed did. When it happens, load is low, disk IO is low (probably
because IMAP access isn't working, ;-) but this server handles itself very
well as is). I logged kern.* to another log and there was nothing in there.
What else can I look for? Is there anything other logging I can setup to
prepare for the next time it happens?
Michael
