Is it possible to have Maildrop report this to Postfix as a permanent failure immediately, ie the first time is sees this problem? This will explain why the error looks like it does - my /etc/maildroprc:

Before you square away the return code, do you understand that the above error message show that something is fundamentally broken with your script, and that you should fix it FIRST, before doing anything else?

"sh: test: argument expected" is a honking clue that something is terribly broken.
