Thank you. A silly elementary problem. Apologies for all the noisy emails about this. I now have IMAP auth working using read instead of cat. However, this may be a "real" problem. When I use SMTP authentication as "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" to send email out through the server, this line seems to strip the domain part...
