How did you send the message?

Message was sent from a windows IMAP client, Outlook Express, which
sent the message via authenticated SMTP, and then moved it up to the
server's sent folder.

The message got archived into the sub-folder when I logged into SqWebMail.

The first time you log in via sqwebmail each month, sqwebmail renames the entire Sent folder. It's not that the individual messages are moved -- the entire folder is moved, and a new, empty, Sent folder gets created in its place.
