Why in emtpd rather than, say, esmtpd-msa?

I just run nullidentd in an attempt to quicken relaying to some hosts.

I don't actually "use" it, but I'm not sure delaying external relays 
is always a problem. (Compare, e.g., to greylisting.) Besides delay, 
do you know about other problems that may be caused -or solved- by 
ident? Enabling it may affect the log lines and message headers, but 
then I don't know how I could use that data.
