Great, that's encouraging, thanks. FWIW, as another bonus crazy idea, if it was at all possible to follow the same vhost strategy with authdeamon then different vdomains could have their own authentication schemes, ie; authdaemonrc.xx.xx.xx.xx authdaemonrc.yy.yy.yy.yy authmysqlrc.xx.xx.xx.xx authsqlite.yy.yy.yy.yy I have a situation where I am allocating alternate backup mailservers to a few VISP customers, which works great with vhosts except for authentication. I am totally hampered by working out some scheme where I have all their various independant user details crammed into a single MySQL database. If I could use replication or rsync for the various databases then it would be almost a completely hands-free and very sane solution. The SQLite option particularly suits small VPS servers with less than 256Mb of ram. Multiple SQLite file system authentication databases would also spread the load for concurrent writes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Don't let slow site performance ruin your business.
