In fact, I thought that Daphne published SRFI 245 in response to that discussion, trying to put a concrete proposal on the table. So this was not a new topic of discussion. Perhaps I'm a barbarian, but I just don't see this as an affront. Simultaneous publication of competing papers, for example, is typical in the academic world. I'm sure that Sergei meant no offense, nor did I.
