Coworking Owners...I Need Your Help Again! Today I went to the Small Business Developement Center to see what resources they offered for ALT^SPACE. I met a really nice counsler and he was very helpful. I was told by him to downsize the scale of the space I needed to start Alt^Space. I was wondering what the square footage is on the spaces you guys have at the different spaces already up and running.
I figured I would need about 2000-3000 feet to start but he told me to start with about 1200 square feet. My house is bigger than that.....I need to find out am I trying to start too large by wanting 2k-3k sqft? The commercial real estate market here starts at about $15 sqft and up for the high traffic areas. Our downtown area wouldnt be a good place to start due to the parking issues and higher prices....so I have a dilemma. I have spoken with a few independents and the interest level is very high but all want to know what area of town we will be in. So location is key. I'm just unsure about the size and if I should down size like the counsler is advising me to.
