Yes, the home of the Alamo and the World Champion Spurs will soon get
a taste of coworking.
Had a great road trip to Bryan-College Station to The Creative Space
and got inspired. (Thanks Cody!) And I wouldn't have even gotten
started without Julie and Susan's catalyst. I've always enjoyed
working with other people around. When I left the cubicle farm that's
what was missing. And so it was coworking to the rescue!
I'm staring with free, informal events at a local coffee shop. Here's
the schedule.
September 18
October 2
October 16
October 30
(Tuesdays)
9 am - 5 pm
La Taza Coffee House
15060 San Pedro
(281 & Brook Hollow)
The reason for the every other week schedule is to try to take the
temperature of the city. If the sessions fly then I'll start looking
at leased space. I've been talking it up around town at luncheons and
mixers and there's some interest, but San Antonio sometimes has
"commitment" issues. (Our very unofficial motto is "Carpe Diem:
Manana.) Let's just say it's pretty laid back down here.
This group and the wiki and all the sharing are great demonstrations
of long distance, "virtual" coworking - thanks all! So wish us luck
down here deep in the heart of Texas!
