Welcome to coworking, Chiqui.

I was going to recommend Takoma Coworking, a short walk from a short
subway ride from downtown, based on a visit I did there last year, but
as of March it has disbanded:

The DC page on the wiki shows some more options:

SuiteSpace is out beyond the beltway in Vienna, VA, and more incubator-esque.

Affinity Lab is on 18th St. NW in the district, but seems to be
primarily aimed at entrepreneurial startups/nonprofits, not simple
drop-in working.

It makes me wonder: is some other type of service in DC serving the
needs of would-be coworkers? Or is the nature of the place simply not
creating coworking opportunities at the rate we're seeing in other
cities with comparable populations and # of jobs?

currently visiting D.C. and looking around for options myself... I
might be able to organize some kind of Jelly or just
lets-talk-about-coworking gathering in DC this week, if time allows
and a space presents itself.
